I got to Dr. Simpson's early to fill out the initial paperwork and left Gaz in their care at 9:00 a.m. I know this is a standard procedure and Dr. Simpson is great with brachycephalic breeds (he owns and shows Frenchies to top it off), but the minute I got into the car I started crying! I was told to call at 4 pm to see what time I could pick her up so all day I was anxious to make that call and hear that my Gaz monkey was okay and ready to come home. Oh I also asked them to microchip her while she was under. I called at 4 and they said she just woke up so we ended up picking her up around 6:30 p.m. The total cost for both the spay and the chip was UNDER $300! I am happy to finally have a trustworthy but affordable vet! Dr. Simpson is the man. :)
Gaz threw up a few times after we brought her home and then drank an enormous amount of water. She was so groggy that at one point she was laying on the ground and farted and she ended up peeing too. She looked so confused. :( She kept trying to pee every so often but only little dribbles would come out. But at 5 a.m. that morning I woke up to a big wet puddle on my blanket by my knees and a very upset looking Gaz on the ground. She makes this miserable looking face when she pees in places that she knows are really bad, but it's so endearing even at that hour. Wednesday she was tired and slept a lot but we noticed that she had some small amounts of blood in her urine. She's still trying to pee all the time and when we go actually go outside she pees then squats another 6 or 7 times in vain. This morning the blood got worse and was way more visible so I called the vet. They said it's normal in bulldogs and would clear up in less than 72 hours but they're gonna give me some antibiotics anyway to be safe. I'm gonna go get them later today and then we go back on Monday Nov 16th to get her stitches out.
