good bye agility

Afew monthes ago I noticed Char's left hind leg was smaller in diameter up by her thigh. After thorough investigation it has been determined that she has a very bad spine...she has an area of spondylosis in the lumbar region. Her thoracic spine is a mess. She will continue to enjoy her ball, long walks, and maybe some rally but no more agility. She has been placed on Dasuquin, fish oil and vitamin c. She has an exercise routine to keep her core strong. She will con't to get monthly acupuncture and…

Mulan's having surgery!!!

Okay...I'm a nervous nelly.....My baby is going under the knife. I've finally conceded and given into the fact that its for the best and it needs to be done. I've waited as long as I can and it's not going away...I've tried the ointment and it's kept it at bay, but that's about it. It kills me to look at her every day with that disgusting thing sticking out saying "LOOK AT ME...LOOK AT ME!!!!"...all the while she's running around without a care in the world like nothing is wrong and getting into…

SIGI

life has been pretty good around my house. about 1 and a half months ago, my mom and dad took me to see my breeder and my doggie mom and dad. my dog dad and mom had made more puppies and we took one home for me to have a real life sister. everyone says she is cute but i think i am cuter. she is a lot of fun. it's like having my own personal toy that plays with ME. she is not as easy to potty train as me. but i think she is getting it.

Overheated! :Update on Bella...

We are pleased to announce that she is has recovered and is doing well. It was a rough couple of days and we feel so blessed that we did not lose her last Friday. Over the weekend, Bella layed around her and eyes seemed sad to me, so I knew she was still convalescing. So when I came homefrom work Monday afternoon, It did my heart good, to see her run and and greet me with the sweetness and enthusiasm that only a Frenchie can muster. She had the whole rump wiggling and she looked as if she was…

Our close call,.... over heating can only take a few moments

Hi everyone, I wanted to take a moment to tell you about our harrowing experience yesterday. My daughter calls me at around 3:30 pm frantic, saying that Something is wrong with Bella. I ask what do you mean, whats wrong? She quickly tells me that she is breathing really hard and salivating. I ask what happened? She tells me that she put the dogs outside while she went upstairs to get dressed for work. I did a little freak out....we live in Florida and the heat is way too much for these little gu…

Just what are these giant creatures?

I have found a new home and have been forced to leave the comfort of my momma. My new family took me on a very long trip to their home and I have discovered that I have a little boy, a little girl, a big lady, a big man, and two very weird looking creatures with ears like mine standing up but very long tails and they make this crazy sound when they see me kind of like this hiiiiiissssssss, (my new mom says they are cats) one even trys to slap my face all the time. All I want to do is say hello.…

Severe Allergies in a Frenchie

Our 4 year old brindle Frenchie is the queen of allergies. She has been tested, seen every doctor and takes numerous medications. We can't seen to do much more than make her comfortable. We are always on the food cycle, have tried the raw diet, she is allergic to chicken products. All the top name brand and more selective foods (Timberline Venison etc.). She takes half a Tavist everyday, Atopica every other day, etc.etc.

Does anyone else go through this and has anyone found any relief…

What it is...

I'd like to meet unaltered adult females. My owners don't want to sell puppies or breed me with my girlfriend but I don't want to be neutered. Faye is ok with an open relationship and she understands I have needs she can't fulfill right now. I'm very funny and friendly but I become aggressive around larger dogs. I love meeting new Frenchies and eating bananas. Let's get together!

Frog Dog

Does anyone know if Frenchies actually eat frogs and if it is dangerous...I could not tell but I saw my dog playing with one and then came in with a frothy mouth...It really freaked me out...The vet said it was fine as long it was a normal frog but I was just wondering if anyone had any comments on this in case it happens again!

My life with Frenchies

Well I originally had a Bull Mastiff, oh boy was he a doll. He was a big bad boy and he loved me to bits. He was a handful even at the size of the palm of your hand. We had to spoon feed him at 3 weeks old cause his mommy did not want anything to do with him. So he was this tiny little thing so cute and adorable but even then he had a nice growl to him. lol Well this little guy grew quickly and got so big. He went through his awkward stages as a teenager with acne and wobbly legs and funny looks…

Hello my lovely friends, Today we drove mommy crazy and almost a step before total collapse... The thing is, you never really know when disaster is coming. She had just returned home from the office and Vlad and I were reeeeeaaaaly so happy to see her. We were jumping around, we were jumping to each other, we were jumping on her... The humane society walk

We went to the walk on Sat. Me (woodson), my mom, and some friends. It was a bit to hot for me and my frenchie self. But I did get to make my first paw print art. I had so much fun doing that. A lady let me walk through all different colors of paint( I'm not really sure what colors they were just looked like grey to me) but mom like it. and after I walked through some of the paint I walked on a white mat so there where my paw prints. Just like magic. Then the best part I got to walk in water!…

Lily passed away today

My beautiful girl passed away peacefully in my arms at 11:20 this morning.

She taught me so much about unconditional love. She was kind, always so patient and her love was constant. Having her in my life made me a better person and maybe that was always God's plan. The pain in my heart is undescribable, but she is still there in my heart. I can't imagine my life without her in it, but I know she was hanging in there for me. She would look in my eyes with such love like she was telling…

A day on the boat

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. Today we took mom out on the boat for mother's day. I got to to play with a fish. Dad brought fish to the boat. Up date on Lily

Lily was diagosed with terminal sarcoma in April. To say we are devastated and heartbroken doesn't even begin to cover it. She is the center of our world and is known in her circle as "Princess Lily" . She maybe alittle miffed because her sister before she passed was known in the neighborhood as the "Queen". A little spoiled, maybe so, but she and her sister made this world a better place.

She is a trooper and pulls her nose up at her pills but takes them. We don't know how much time w…

Time to catch up

Oh my where do we begin. There has been so much going on between the fishing trips on dads boat and the trips to the park we have been very busy FBDs. Brady still doesn't like the boat maybe one day mom and dad will stop taking him. Me (woodson) I LOVE it. The open sea air. The water splashing into the boat(my dad is a crazy driver) The fish swimming around the boat(one day I will get one). What more could a dog ask for? Frenchie's head size

I feel like a terrible parent!

Well, I know there is controversy over whether or not you should get your Frenchies vaccinated. When we got Winnifred, our breeder advised us to stay away from unnecessary vaccines. Sometimes, though, if we have to go out of town and can't find anyone to watch our babies, we have to have them boarded.

In order to board them or send them to Doggie Day care, they need to have the annual vaccines(Rabbies, Bortatella, DDp, etc.). So, I brought the dogs into the Vet's office last week to ge…

Frog Dog's Eating Flies!

Well, they don't call them frog dogs for nothing! Spring is in the air and so are the little flying bugs/flies! We live in Southern Virginia and my FRENCHIES LOVE Catching flies! It's amazing! Both of them have this inherent instinct to go after flying bugs and they ALWAYS catch them! It's great....but gross at the same time(because I still let them lick my face! Anyway, just wondering how many other people's Frenchies do this? and why???

At the dog park

Today we went to the dog park after work. Woodson found out about squirrels today. I think he feels that he is a great hunter. No he didn't catch any. He isn't that fast or that stealthy ( the breathing thing) For about an hour and a half for Woodson it was all about the squirrels. He will sleep well tonight. Brady meet lots of new friends. He is the out going one. I think they enjoyed it. As they both are snoring next to me in bed I know they had a good time.

I am trying to find some more local people that have French bulldogs so my dog can have some friends. Right now all she has to play with is 3 cats and they don't play rough enough for her. Any one in the Kansas City area with a French Bulldog that is interested in possibly meeting at the dog park is welcomed.

Gabby the new family member

She is lots of fun, but the puppy stage is not fun. She likes to bite, nip and throw a temper if she doesn't get her way. But I took her to a 8 week training class at Petsmart in Mooresville. Teresa the Trainer knew just what to do to correct all my issues. She is a differerent dog after 8 weeks of training.

We have had Gabby for almost a week, and my, how things have changed! When we first brought her home, she was extremely lethargic and I was convinced that she was sick! Fortunately, the vet said she only had a minor URI, and prescribed some antibiotics. Well, suffice it to say that she is feeling better and truly showing her Frenchy personality! She spends most of her time chasing around her "big sisters" and terrorizing the cat. Her new favorite pasttime is running along side the beach ball and…
