Im Just wondering what Im in for with Orson, He has just hit 6 months and he is at 13lbs, from what my vet says and random people out and about they seem to think hes going to be a little guy, Im just wondering if any one rembers what their Frenchie weighed at 6 months?
Mine weighed around 16 lbs at 6 months, and now at almost 3 years old he is 26 lbs. but is a little underweight at the moment (he's a hard keeper, and very picky eater, he loses weight really easily) and his ideal weight is around 28 lbs. My Boston was 14 lbs. at 6 months and matured into 20 lbs. she weighs 20 lbs on the dot and she is 1.5 years old.
Lovey was 18 lbs when I got her, she's now at 19 lbs, and I don't think I want her to get any bigger. She's a little Frenchie, and with the recent strained ligament issue, think it would be smarter to keep her this weight. She'll be 6 in August.
Lola is 19.5lbs and holding. she is 16 mos. old. She really has not gained much weight since I got her at 8 mos. maybe 5lbs. She maintains a great weight with the origen and supplements. I am very careful not to let her get overweight because I dont want to aggravate her spinal problems. I have noticed it is easy for extra pounds to add up on our little stocky friends without people noticing! I often wonder if Lola is too thin just because she is such a muscle bound thing. But the vet assures me she is perfect and just not as round as others in her breed.
Zoee was about 17lbs when she came to us at 4 months old. By 6 months, she was close to 20, and by 9 months, she was 24. She is 21 months old now, and she is still 24lbs (she goes between 24 and 25).
It can be hard to tell their "final" weight as some dogs take longer to mature and "fill out" than others. The best way to guess is to look at the adult weight of his parents. That should give you a good indicator of where he may end up as far as weight goes.
Zoee grew "fast and furious" but sputtered out pretty quickly. I thought she was going to end up being 30lbs :D
