Just an introduction

Hello! My name is Devin and I'm an ADAMANT frenchie lover. This is the first frenchie I've ever owned. I have a bullmastiff and an american bulldog (I'm a bullie lover) but I've always wanted a little frenchie for my lap since my other two are just too heavy!

I recently just adopted a little dam that I get to take home in a few weeks! She is currently 15 weeks and I'm so excited to take her back to California! I haven't even figured out a name yet for her...I'm stuck between Peach, Pearl, Goldie, Ginger, and perhaps the original idea of Sasha. I've never had a dog this small before so I know I'll be around here asking a ton of questions. Looking forward to meeting you all and sharing more about my frenchie and me!

Congrats on your new baby!! I too love the smashed faces, I have Boxers and Frenchies. I certainly understand about the bigger dogs thinkin' that they are lap dogs. I have a 70 lb Boxer that plops right down on you if you allow it. What's even funnier is when my son Mason had oral surgery. He was recovering in my husband's recliner and had Max our Boxer crammed in the seat with him and Emmy (the only Frenchie we had at the time) curled up on his lap. You'll have loads of fun with the Frenchie's antics...no other breed is quite like 'em. Enjoy and be sure to share pictures of your new little girl and her fursiblings =).

congratulations on your new arrival! they are wonderful dogs! i found that anytime i brought home a new pup all the name ideas i was thinking of went right out the window...when you see her and hold her...her name will come to you!

Oh okay. I've heard so many different variations because people just want to avoid the word "bitch" and I usually call females dogs a bitch but just recently discovered "dam". I just like dam cuz it sounds so close to dame. Thanks for letting me know!

Devin - the word dam means the mother of a litter of puppies, that's why your little girl is referred to as a bitch and not a dam. :) I don't really like using the word bitch, even though I know it is the "proper" term and that it just means a female dog, but I just call my Ellie my little girl! Works for me! :D
