Okay, now that I have chatted about Finn's strange head bobbing, I wanted to ask about a condition that Huck developed some months back. For a week or so he had been bugging his eyes out more than he usually seemed to. That Friday, his vision seemed to have deteriorated some. By that Sunday evening he had gone completely blind and we were making a trip to the emergency clinic. Of course, they were concerned it could be Glaucoma. The following morning we visited a Veterinary Opthalmologist who diagnosed Huck with Idiopathic Optic Neuritis. It's an unexplained swelling and inflamation of the optic nerves. Huck went on steroids and within a day he had regained some of his vision. He can't see perfectly, but he can see to run and wrestle with his brother, and that's all that matters. He has decreased to steroids every other day, but his vision seemed to worsen again today. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the breed, or with any breed for that matter... This one through us for a complete loop!
